1.專題演講：A new MicroRNA biogenesis pathway in cancer progression.
We have identified a new pathway of controlling the degradation of microRNA, particularly, those tumor suppressor microRNAs. We have characterized interferon-induced tetratricopeptide repeat 5 (IFIT5) as the key factor in this machinery, dissected the mechanism of microRNA turnover and determined the regulation of this machinery. Clinically, elevated IFIT5 is detected in prostate and glioblastoma. Overall, this outcome of this study provides a new knowledge for microRNA regulation, which can be applied as a new strategy of microRNA therapy.
